A concept design for a more sustainable kettle.
The majority of a kettle’s environmental impact comes from how it’s used. With this in mind, I wanted to design something so far away from a conventional kettle that no bad habits are carried over. My design emphasises the ritualistic nature of making a cup of tea, only being used when sitting in front of the fire, it is a niche product that evokes a feeling of cosiness. But most importantly there is no wasted water and no electricity used.
